Since 2014 I’ve pretty much dedicated my life to studying and perfecting my craft; expanding my knowledge of industry standards, anatomy, sterilisation, infection control, blood-borne pathogens, amongst much more.
Piercing is the only thing I’ve ever been truly passionate about.
My interest was sparked back when I was thirteen years old and had my nostril pierced in a dodgy backstreet “studio” in Cardiff. So began my adventure into the world of body piercing and modification.
Shortly after the nostril debacle (which unsurprisingly had to be removed) I began collecting and experimenting with new piercings, including stretching my earlobes (which were 34mm at their largest!)
I immersed myself in the history and culture surrounding piercings, researching every single relevant and related topic that I could think of.
Surprisingly though despite receiving countless piercings over the years, I’m not actually that keen on being on the receiving end of the needle (piercing or tattoo!)
Whilst I’m able to pierce other people all day long, when it comes to getting one – most of my clients would put me to shame!
Whilst being maybe a little embarrassing to admit, I’ve been able to adopt this into my techniques, bedside manner and the way I interact with clients to ensure they are always as comfortable and informed as possible.
Piercing is always on my mind in some way or another – thinking of ways to improve, jewellery, cleaning, jewellery, wondering how clients are getting on with their healing piercings.. jewellery..
Being able to help someone to express themselves through piercing and jewellery is such a wonderful, rewarding feeling and I feel genuinely grateful to have met so many incredible and diverse individuals throughout my career, let alone be trusted to pierce them!
Of course I still have a lot to learn, with techniques and laws constantly changing; but I’m dedicated to my responsibility as a piercer; to keep myself and my clients safe and informed at all times.
I began my career working for a well known high street body piercing chain in 2014, in which I quickly became known for my skill and bubbly nature.
I left the company in 2017 after advancing to Senior Piercer and Piercer Trainer, piercing for a short time from Southmead Tattoo Studio, before moving back home to Cardiff.
I began my residency at Physical Graffiti Custom Tattoo Studio in the summer of 2018 after trying my hand at retail, bar work and dog grooming, before deciding I needed to be piercing full time, but to also be in complete control of my suppliers and cleaning regimen.
In October 2020 I joined the team at Two Rivers in The Vale of Glamorgan, bringing the first ever professional piercing experience to Penarth.
After starting Sunday Club and realising how many clients commented on finding the tattoo shop vibe overwhelming at times, I realised there was nowhere locally that clients could just get pierced in a comforting, professional environment, without the hustle and bustle of a busy tattoo studio in the background.
Four years in to my solo journey, I felt that it was the right time, so Ethereal Aesthetics Piercing Boutique was born! I aim to make it an inviting, safe, inclusive space, where the main focus is YOU and YOUR piercing experience!
Since passing my initial training in 2014, I’ve continued my education by becoming a member on professional forums, networking with/shadowing industry peers, attending UKAPP conferences, taking online classes, subscribing to techniques podcasts/patreons and I’m also fully up to date on Blood-borne Pathogen, First Aid/CPR and AED training.
